Atypical Pap

An atypical Pap test can reveal infection that increases risk of miscarriage; cryotherapy is sometimes an option. Dysplasia describes a pre-cancer condition where cervical cells appear somewhat abnormal under a microscope. Unusual changes in cervical cells in most cases can be treated without invasive measures. However, true cancer (carcinoma in situ and invasive cancer) usually requires surgical procedures. An atypical Pap test can reveal infection that increases risk of miscarriage; cryotherapy is sometimes an option.

Miscarriage, Cryotherapy

If the cervical cells are analyzed and discovered to be unusual, these differences are classified from mild, moderate, and severe dysplasia to carcinoma in situ, and severe invasive cancer. The classifications help physicians determine the appropriate treatment for related cervical problems. An atypical Pap test can reveal infection that increases risk of miscarriage; cryotherapy is sometimes an option.
