When To Get A Pap Smear

If you don't know when to get a pap smear, the best time is 10-14 days after the period, as at that time human papilloma virus, vaginitis, and other disorders are obvious and nothing alters the result of the test. If a woman has had sexual relations sooner than at age 18, she should also have this test as part of annual pelvic examination. Women aged 18 and older should have regular Papanicolaou tests to check for abnormal cells in the cervix and vaginal conditions. If you don't know when to get a pap smear, the best time is 10-14 days after the period, as at that time human papilloma virus, vaginitis, and other disorders are obvious and nothing alters the result of the test.
