Thin Prep Pap Test
If a thin prep pap test determines ASCUS, cryosurgery is not required, as this condition is not very serious and can disappear on its own.
It may cost a little more, but it offers increased sensitivity to finding atypical cells beyond what the conventional method offers, thereby, reducing the risk of a false negative. Although some certain cervical disorders may be easily found using conventional cytology techniques, an option to the standard is available.

As a benefit, unnecessary diagnostic surgical procedures for ASCUS may be avoided. Since most kinds of tumor-causing HPV is associated with HPV infection, this method offers greater chances of finding the disease. This method allows an optional test to be made on the original sample when abnormal cells found.
