HPV Ascus

It induces the growth of abnormal cells that can become malignant. This sexually transmitted disease is the main cause of cervical cancer. In many women, infection with certain types of human papilloma virus is the first step in the progression from a normal cervix to cervical cancer.

Without treatment severely dysplastic cells penetrate deeper layers of the cervix and spread to other organs, causing invasive cervical cancer.
